Medrad: ConsTRAIN

MEDRAD: CONSTRAIN is a science-fantasy based TTRPG designed for the setting of Medrad, a world in which the planes of reality flow into each other, rivers of mana that warp environments where these realities connect.

In CONSTRAIN, the characters, given semi-randomized objectives, are riding a cosmic train where they do quests in various planes of existence to get back on the train until they (hopefully) eventually reach their destination, achieve their goal, and (hopefully) make some friends and rivals along the way.

For character creation, the game largely relies on player-conductor cooperation to design abilities, though a collection of pre-made abilities exist.

Gameplay bounces between two states: While on board, player characters largely are in downtime, relaxing and making connections with each other and NPCs, giving potential boons when with your allies. However, when the train makes a stop, the characters are put to action.
Whether randomized improvization or pre-written, the game master (called the Conductor) throws the players at a problem in a random reality. Perhaps Demons have burst into an Allanzei Bank that stores Conceptual Individuality and are destroying the place, or the Lagamarr servants of Ishmekarab begin to enslave those leaving the train. Once the player characters sufficiently deal with whatever issue, the train returns to pick up anyone left. Then, you turn back to downtime on board. Keep going for as long as the group has fun.

The front largely deals with how character creation and combat work, as well as specific terms used.

The back deals with how things work while on the train, as well as explaining the cosmology that the train rides through.
